is put together by me (James Tadeo), Jesse Durham, bbjay, my guru friend Maher and a bunch of friends from different expertise and backgrounds getting together to make one of our dreams happen. To make a site that will serve up games and also a site that will show or give some pointers on making games. No it's not original, but the technology is.
My friends and I have tested the OSAKit and feel it's ready to be tried out as a game plugin. In the process I also became a distributor for OSAKit and saw the potential to release games via the Internet.
and try out different genres, styles and approaches to game making and development by hobbyist amateur gamers to professional level games. OSAKit's primary goal is for our guests to visit have some fun. Ofcourse if you want to donat to this free service, well, no one is gonna stop you.
or at least get some good info on how to go about making games. For the record, making a game is no easy task. You need to be determined to make one. It also demands a lot of expertise. From story tellers, writers, interface designers, 3D modellers and animators, music and sound makers, programmers, and ofcourse you. In many cases, you will wear all the hats when making a game, unless ofcourse you have a few hundred thousand dollars to hire gurus and experts.
For this site, I am curently using the Torque Game Engine. There are a few game engines out there. OSAKit.net has decided at this time to focus on GarageGames Torque Engine technology. We chose it because it has excellent support, a vibrant community and at $100 for an Indy license, it is a gift! There are other ofcourse. At some point, I should make a list.
If you are an Indie Gamer, then even better. We are collecting games from different people to see if they can be included in the OSAKit.net Web site. If you have a game you want to try out and have people give a "Ye" or "Nay" to, OSAKit.net might be a good platform to try out. This site was designed to get exposure for the Indy Gamer at no cost.
